Inauguration of the Caverne Patate Visitor’s Centre
On Friday, 13 March 2026, the Commission for Tourism and Discovery Rodrigues officially inaugurated the Caverne Patate Visitor’s Centre, a new space dedicated to welcoming visitors and enhancing the discovery of one of the most emblematic natural sites of Rodrigues.
The ceremony was held in the presence of His Excellency, Mr. Jean Yvan Robert Hungley, G.O.S.K., Vice-President of the Republic of Mauritius, and Mr. Franceau Aubret Grandcourt, G.O.S.K., Chief Commissioner.
This new centre aims to enhance the visitor experience while further showcasing the natural richness and unique heritage of Rodrigues.
